Directions to Sayersbrook
The 14th annual Ozark Off-Road Adventure will begin with the traditional Hummer caravan from the dealership located in Chesterfield, MO to Sayersbrook Bison Ranch in Potosi, MO. Sign-up will begin promptly at 7:00 a.m. and the caravan will be leaving at 8:00. If you prefer to meet at the ranch please arrive before 9:00 a.m. for sign-up. At sign up all drivers and passengers must sign liability waivers and will then be assigned a GMRS two-way radio and a group assignment. We will then seperate into 3 groups:
  • The tenderfoot group runs trails that are a little bit challenging and require minimal driving technique to complete. Trail leaders will provide coaching and support and the possibility of vehicle damage should be minimal.
  • The veteran group runs trails that tend to be more technical in nature and require some off-road driving skill and experience. Trail leaders provide some coaching and spotting as needed, though drivers are expected to know the basics. Some winching and extraction is usually required, so drivers should be equipped with tow ropes, shackles, etc. Vehicle damage is always a possibility, but with skill, patience, and the ability to follow direction, drivers should be able to complete these trails without complication.
  • The thrill-seeker group runs the most extreme trails available and require extensive off-road driving experience and expertise. Trail Leaders know the trails, but the drivers are expected to provide coaching and support for each other. Winching and extraction are required often so all drivers must be equipped with tow ropes and shackles. A winch, while not mandatory, is highly recommended. Vehicles must be equipped with proper underbody protection and proper ground clearance. While this group has mostly consisted of H1s, a couple of H2s and even a properly equipped H3 have completed some of these extreme trails. Some vehicle damage is probable, but with skill and patience drivers will complete these extreme trails with minimal carnage.

Please make sure that your Hummer is off-road ready (sidesteps removed, spare tire, full fuel tank, etc.) before leaving for the ranch or the dealership.
